Leaving our hotel we take a scenic drive through the Durham Dales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy the tranquil landscape of hills and moors, valleys with meandering rivers and picturesque villages. We make a stop at the Durham Dales Visitor Centre before continuing to Barnard Castle, home to the impressive French-style chateau that is Bowes Museum. Regarded as one of the finest museums outside London, the museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens and parklands and is close to the town's main street.

Full Day - Durham & River Wear cruise
Arriving in Durham we take a leisurely river cruise on board the Prince Bishop Cruiser. Relax and enjoy the views of this World Heritage Site with commentary. Small enough to explore on foot, this welcoming city will surprise and delight at every turn as you wander at your own pace. Visit the stunning cathedral and medieval castle, explore the little alleyways or just sit back at a riverside café and take in the atmosphere.
